Awarded to the student who passionately advocates for their education and opportunity in agriculture in general and specifically the Altario Agriculture Program
Awarded to the student who demonstrates ethical citizenship both inside and outside the school by promoting the health, well-being and betterment of others.
For high school graduating students who are a Canadian resident, enrolled in a post-secondary institution in an agricultural program.
Awarded to the student who embraces both school based and other extra-curricular activities in pursuit of becoming a well-rounded student.
Awarded to the student who is always willing to lend a hand in and outside of the school, has a serious approach to their studies, and continually strives to improve themselves. Someone in school that does well, maybe isn’t always the student with the highest marks but works hard to push themself through school.
Awarded to the student who shows proficiency and work ethic in senior high language arts/social.

The KAC Agricultural Society offers two scholarship awards, on an annual basis.
The first award offered is one $550 scholarship to students enrolled in two-year diploma programs, at Canadian post-secondary institutions.
The second award offered is one $900 scholarship to students enrolled in four-year degree programs, at Canadian post-secondary institutions.
Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
The applicant must be currently enrolled in the second year of a diploma or university degree program.
The applicant must have completed at least two (2) years of his/her high school program at the Altario High School.
The applicant’s parents must be current residents of the KAC district, unless extenuating circumstances can be brought to the attention of the Selection Committee, who shall have the final decision on the residency requirement.
Application Procedure
1. The applicant is required to provide a copy of his/her first year Transcript of Marks. That transcript must be in an original form, sent by the Registrar’s Office to the Principal, Altario School, Altario, AB. T0C 0E0
2. The applicant is required to provide verification of his/her enrolment in the second year of a diploma or degree program. Either a letter from the Registrar’s Office indicating enrolment or completion of the appropriate part of the application (Part II) will be satisfactory proof of attendance.
3. The scholarship Application and required documentation must be provided to the Principal, Altario School, no later than October 15 of the application year.
Selection Procedure
1. The Selections Committee shall be composed of two members of the KAC Agriculture Society and one member of the Altario School teaching staff.
2. The Selections Committee will meet prior to December 1st of the application year. In making selections of candidates for both the diploma and degree scholarships, selection criteria will include:

1. Proof of enrolment in the second year of the program
2. Comparison of transcripts of the first year of program studies
3. The awards, diploma, and degree, will be made to the student with the highest average grades on all first year courses recorded in the transcript of marks.
4. The Agriculture Society Selections Committee will announce award recipients on December 1st of the application year. One award will be granted to a student enrolled in a diploma program at a Canadian post-secondary institution, and one award will be granted to a student enrolled in a degree program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
Remuneration Procedure
Prior to December 31st, the Agriculture Society will make payment of the award to the Registrar’s Office at the appropriate institution. The payment will be credited to the fee account of the recipient.
Each year, the Altario School staff will choose a grade 12 student from Altario School who best exemplifies the attached criteria.
Awarded to the student that has demonstrated leadership within the school through work ethic, example, and willingness to help the school and fellow students.
Live in Lions Multiple District C (Alberta)
Have or will have graduated from Grade 12 at the time of presentation and have acceptance at a post-secondary institution of one or more years of study leading to a certificate or degree
Have not reached their 20th birthday at time of application
Those who have received the Lions Legacy Scholarship in the past will not qualify for future grants from the Lions of Alberta Legacy Scholarship
Demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian causes and exhibit the Lions’ service-oriented philosophy by actively volunteering in their communities
Awarded to the student who shows proficiency and work ethic in senior high math/sciences.
The donors of the Nicholas Baier Memorial Award Of Excellence offer one scholarship award on an annual basis.
The award is offered to a student who completes his or her grade 12 studies with excellence in academics.
The award will be offered annually, with the value established on an annual basis.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must have completed at least two (2) years of his/her high school program at the Altario School.
The applicant’s parents must be current residents of the Altario district, unless extenuating circumstances can be brought to the attention of the Selection Committee, who shall have the final decision on the residency requirement.
Application Procedure
1. The Scholarship Application and required documentation must be provided to the Principal, Altario School, no later than June 1st of the application year.

2. The Selection Committee will choose the successful candidate based upon:

1. Comparison of transcripts of applicants
2. The award will be made to the student with the highest average grades over 80%, averaging the course marks of these four(4) core courses: English 30-1, Social Studies 30-1, Mathematics 30 Pure or Mathematics 30-1 and one of: Biology 30, Chemistry 30 or Physics 30.
3. The award will calculate the student’s best academic average in the above courses, including using the second semester High School Report Card for grade 12 second semester courses.
4. The Selection Committee will forward all applications and its decision to the Altario School Principal, prior to the annual June School Awards Ceremony.
Remuneration Procedure
The donors will announce the recipients and make payment of the award to the recipient at the Altario School Awards Ceremony, in late June.
