The Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is an apprenticeship program for high school students where students who are attending high school to earn their Alberta High School Diploma or Certificate of Achievement, can also work towards a registered apprenticeship. It allows students who are 15 years of age or older to start their apprenticeship training while completing high school.
Get Paid - Minimum wage or higher
Earn Credits - Earn up to 40 RAP credits towards a high school diploma
Get Experience - Bank up to 1000 hours towards apprenticeship training
Get a $1000 Scholarship - Students are eligible for a scholarship through Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT)
Get a Head Start on a Career - Outcomes align with 1st year apprenticeship training.

Complete HCS3000 & HCS3010. Contact your Off Campus Coordinator for assistance if you need helping registering in these courses.
Follow the instructions on the MyTrade Secrets website to register as an apprentice with your employer. Ask your Off Campus Coordinator for assistance.
Off Campus Coordinator will complete a Site Safety Inspection.
Students will keep track of their hours to enter into their Apprentice Record Book.
For every 125 hours of work completed, the Off Campus Coordinator will arrange to have an evaluation completed by the employer. (5 credits = 125 hours)
